Why doesn’t any text come out of my PDF?
Then your PDF is probably a scan: a picture of paper, with no real text. Use ‘Recognise text’ instead, which reads the letters in the picture.

Is the formatting kept?
You get plain text, with lines and paragraphs. Bold, columns and tables become plain text.

Does my PDF go to a server?
No. The text is read from the PDF in your own browser.
